Huntsville's Large Tree Removal Specialists
Family-owned by Robert Norman, Dixieland Tree Service has taken down big trees across Huntsville, Madison County and Limestone County for more than 30 years — where old-school experience meets new technology.
Our Story
Robert Norman started Dixieland Tree Service more than three decades ago with a simple promise: treat every customer's property like it was his own. Over the years the business has focused in on what we do best — taking down the tall trees, mature hardwoods, and hazard trees that most homeowners can't handle themselves. We still do the work safely, do it right, and leave the property better than we found it. Along the way we've earned an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama and a Google Guaranteed badge.
Why "Remote Controlled"?
A lot of tree companies show up with heavy trucks and drive them straight across your yard. We don't. Dixieland operates a remote-controlled tree-removal truck that can reach into tight spaces, cut from the street, and keep heavy equipment off your lawn, driveway, and landscaping. It's safer for our crew, safer for your property, and it's the reason neighbors tell us, "You'd never know they were here."
Insured, Workers' Comp Covered, BBB A+ Accredited
Credentials You Can Verify
BBB A+ Accredited (North Alabama) · Google Guaranteed · General Liability Insurance · Workers' Compensation (Alabama). Certificates available on request.
We carry general liability insurance specific to tree work — not generic landscaper coverage — and workers' compensation on every employee. Workers' comp is coverage most tree services in this area don't carry; without it, you can be held liable if a crew member is injured on your property. We're proud to be one of the few companies in North Alabama that carries it on every job.
One note on the term licensed: in Alabama, a "Tree Surgery" license is a separate state credential required to apply pesticides — that's not the work we do, so we don't carry that license. If you need pesticide application, you'll want a licensed tree surgeon. For removal, trimming, storm cleanup, and stump grinding, we've got you covered.
Built for North Alabama
We grew up around these trees. Huntsville, Madison County, and Limestone County have their own particular challenges: fast-moving storm systems from the west, tornado seasons that leave pines down across neighborhoods, and a mix of hardwoods — oak, hickory, pecan, sweetgum — that each demand their own approach. After 30+ years working these neighborhoods, our crews know the species, the soil, and the weather that shapes them.
